Install a Complete RAIN HARVESTING System

Whether in drought or in bloom, we need to find better ways of using water. Rain Harvesting is a manufacturer and wholesaler of sustainable water products intent on helping people build sustainable futures.

We believe it makes sense to catch pure, fresh rainwater that falls for free from the heavens, and have developed a complete system or products for rainwater collection. Used in conjunction with rainwater tanks, the products are relatively maintenance free, simple in their operation and help ensure your rainwater harvesting system delivers superior results.

A tank guardian is fitted at the rain barrel or tank/cistern entry point to keep mosquitoes and pests out.  It also prevents falling leaves, debris and vermin from entering the rain barrel or tank/cistern.

Mozzie StoppaTM Mosquito Insect Flap Valves are insect-proof screens that prevent vermin and insects entering the tank/cistern.  They are suitable to use, with a flexible coupling, to fit at the end of 3" or 4" downspout or pipes that lead to the tank and all tank overflow units.  They have a double seal, are self-cleaning, and have flaps that cannot be over-rotated and left open.  The Flap Valves also allow a flow of air over the surface of the water which improves water quality.

Hi-Level Tank Overflow Outlet with gasket for flat wall tanks - ideal for polypropylene tanks.  Will add almost 5" of water to the tank before overflowing.  Designed to fit the Mozzie StoppaTM flap valve to insect proof the tank.  Use a hole saw blade and drill a 33/4 inch hole into the tank wall, seal with silicone and fix into place with screws.

How to Create the Complete RAIN HARVESTING System

Further information on critical Rain Harvesting System Design Factors you need to consider when planning and installing your rainwater system and Products for Rain Harvesting.

Rainwater Harvesting saves water, money & helps the environment

Rainwater Harvesting (also called roofwater harvesting) involves the collection, storage and distribution of rainwater from the roof, for use inside and outside the home or business.

1. Start saving water now! Rainwater Harvesting reduces water usage in every household and is the most efficient water solution. Runoff from the roof to the tank is immediate and efficient, whereas runoff in vegetated dam catchments requires significant rainfall to impact on dam levels. You can take control and make a difference today!

2. Safe, sustainable water. Rainwater is naturally pure and fresh. It is not recycled water. Provided certain precautions are taken, research supports rainwater as a safe, sustainable source of water that can meet all of a household's requirements.

3. Significant cost savings for the community and each household. It makes common sense to catch rainwater that falls for free from the sky and utilize it in and around the home.

4. Protect local waterways and reduce stormwater infrastructure costs. By capturing and utilising rainwater where it falls, rainwater harvesting reduces both the volume and velocity of stormwater run off from our urban areas. This helps protect our waterways and reduces the need for expensive stormwater infrastructure.
